Finally Dependency¬ 2.0 is ready for action! If you have used the previous version, trash it and drag the 2.0 version to your {MPW}Tools: folder.
Many of you asked for a way to keep dependencies on Mac Toolbox headers from appearing in Dependency output. Well, not only can you mask out Toolbox header dependencies, but any directories' files can be masked out with a single keystroke..!
Furthermore, Dependency¬ 2.0 is now Makefile-Studly... It's output can be copied and pasted directly into your project's makefile without modification.
It'll even generate the target's C build instruction complete with your compiler options and destination folder aliases. Again, without modifying your current building environment, and without any headaches.
As always, Dependency¬ 2.0 works as any standard MPW Tool. It can be operated in the backround under Multifinder. It works terrific in scripts, so that you can generate a complete makefile ( except for Rez and Link instructions) in seconds. No longer dependent upon your {CIncludes} variable, Dependency¬ 2.0 is free to process build trees up to 100 files deep per target #include statement ( Try that by hand! ).
Best of all, it's insanely easy to use, and it's absolutely FREE. You may give it away to anyone, but you can't sell it; alone, or as part of any software/ hardware package.
If you're a C programmer, download it... I'll guarantee YOU NEED THIS!!!
